Third Party Verification

Future Proof your home with a green building, third party verified certification.

Aiki Homes has been building "beyond the building code" for years. The building code is the minimum level a builder is legally allowed to build. Why would someone build to the minimum standard, when there are so many ways to make a building better?

Today there are several third-party verified certifications to future-proof your home as a "green" home. Someday the building code will change to improve the performance of homes and this certification provides proof that your home is "beyond code."

We know what makes a home "green" but we want other to know as well. That's why Aiki Homes is committed to certifying 100% of our homes Built Green™ and ENERGY STAR®. We also have experience with the LEED for Homes program, creating a home with a national green building certification from conception to the finishing details.

LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design for Homes)

LEED for Homes is a rating system that promotes the design and construction of high-performance green homes. A green home uses less energy, water and natural resources; creates less waste; and is healthier and more comfortable for the occupants. Benefits of a LEED home include lower energy and water bills; reduced greenhouse gas emissions; and less exposure to mold, mildew and other indoor toxins. The net cost of owning a LEED home is comparable to that of owning a conventional home.

Built Green

Built Green is a certification program through the (BIA) Building Industry Association of Whatcom County. This local program works in partnership to create safer, healthier and more efficient homes, reduce impacts of construction and development, and improve and protect the valuable community and natural resources of Whatcom County.

ENERGY STAR® homes are better built, more comfortable homes that save you money on your utility bills every month. Every Northwest ENERGY STAR® certified home has been built to meet energy efficient guidelines set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency. From energy efficient windows to advanced heating and cooling systems, ENERGY STAR® homes guarantee greater savings, comfort and peace-of-mind. Simply stated, ENERGY STAR® homes are built better for you and the environment.
